Wolverine Wellness

Wolverine Wellness is the University of Michigan’s primary organization dedicated to the health and well-being of our college community. Through wellness coaching, a course on well-being, and even destressing sessions with therapy dogs, Wolverine Wellness seeks to provide accessible resources to promote the physical and mental health of all.

One of their recent campaigns is known as “I’m a Wolverine and…”. It features students who are willing to share a bit about their story and what makes them who they are. These personal experiences can be related to struggles or challenges, as well as triumphs or inspirations. Students published on the Wolverine Wellness website as a part of this campaign have shared a variety of different experiences and perspectives, including both being a student and being low-income, coming from a different country, and managing illness. At their core, they are all about a central part of that student’s story. Wolverine Wellness hopes that, through this campaign, some of the common misconceptions and stigmas around feeling the pressure to be perfect or being nervous to ask for help can be minimized and eliminated.

College is a time of growth and learning, but it is also challenging. It can be easy to get into the mindset of feeling like everyone has everything under control and going exactly according to plan, but, in reality, everyone has their own personal obstacles and struggles. The “I’m a Wolverine and…” campaign hopes to shed light on the many different realities of being a student at the University of Michigan and serve as a reminder that there are always resources and people willing to lend a helping hand.
