Liz Hoornstra   Event Coordinator  Liz Hoornstra is a junior studying Organizational Studies with dual minors in Community Action and Social Change and Education for Empowerment from Chesaning Michigan. She loves to read, explore new cities, and go to museums. As a member of Mentality, she finds the sense of community, respect, and understanding a much needed atmosphere in the realm of mental health advocacy. She appreciates the way Mentality can open up conversations with her work in other organizations such as Michigan Active Citizens - Alternative Spring Break, Zeta Omega Eta, and her work at the LSA Opportunity Hub.

She loves spending time with friends and family, game nights, her dog, iced coffee, and binge-watching Netflix. Ashley is interested in becoming a therapist, and she thinks that mental health is extremely important but there is a stigma that talking about mental health equates to weakness. She enjoys Mentality Magazine because it helps to eliminate that stigma by encouraging students to openly share their feelings and struggles regarding mental health.
